  • Fresh basil leaves, as desired
  • 1 tsp onion powder (natural)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (natural)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Patties: In a bowl, combine ground turkey, natural garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until evenly combined. If needed, add a touch of natural gelling agent to bind the mixture. Shape into four equal patties.
  2. Cook the Smoked Turkey Bacon: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Lightly cook the smoked turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  3. Cook the Patties: In the same skillet, add olive oil and cook the turkey patties over medium heat for 5-6 minutes per side until fully cooked and golden brown. Near the end, spread a layer of pizza sauce on each patty, add a slice of plant-based cheese, and top with a couple of fresh basil leaves. Allow the cheese to melt gently.
  4. Toast the Buns: Split the whole wheat buns and toast them lightly in the skillet or toaster until warm and slightly crispy.
  5. Assemble Your Pizza Burgers: Place each patty on the toasted bun bottoms. Top with crispy smoked turkey bacon, a spoonful of extra pizza sauce if desired, then place the bun tops on. Serve immediately.
