Ingredients

Fish and Seasoning

  • Firm white fish fillets (such as cod, tilapia, or haddock) – 4 fillets (about 1 lb)
  • Olive oil (natural) – 2 tablespoons
  • Smoked paprika – 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural) – 1 tablespoon

Tortillas and Toppings

  • Corn tortillas – 8 small
  • Red cabbage, thinly sliced – 1 cup
  • Avocado slices – 1 medium avocado
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped – 1/4 cup
  • Fresh lime juice – 2 tablespoons plus extra for serving
  • Plant-based sour cream (plant-based) – 1/4 cup
  • Sriracha mayo (natural) – 2 tablespoons (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fish: Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Lightly brush each fillet with olive oil (natural). In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural). Rub this spice mixture evenly on both sides of the fish fillets. Let the fish rest for 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. Air Fry the Fish: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the seasoned fish fillets in a single layer inside the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fish is golden and flakes easily with a fork.
  3. Warm the Tortillas: Wrap the corn tortillas in a clean kitchen towel. Heat them in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side. This will soften them and make them pliable for wrapping.
  4. Assemble the Tacos: Lay the cooked fish onto each tortilla. Top with shredded red cabbage, avocado slices, and fresh cilantro. Mix plant-based sour cream (plant-based) with fresh lime juice, then drizzle over the tacos. Add sriracha mayo (natural) as desired for a spicy kick. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime juice for brightness.

Notes

  • Cut fish fillets into similar sizes to ensure even cooking.
  • Cook the fish in batches if your air fryer basket is small to avoid overcrowding and keep the fish crispy.
  • Always warm tortillas right before serving to prevent cracking.
  • Prepare fresh veggies just before assembling tacos to maintain their crispness.
  • For creamy sauces, add a touch of natural gelling agent for perfect texture.
