Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Warm the plant-based milk until pleasantly warm but not hot. Stir in yeast and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar (natural) to activate; let sit until frothy, about 5 to 7 minutes. In a large bowl, combine flour, remaining brown sugar, and salt. Add melted plant-based butter and the yeast mixture. Mix to form a sticky dough and knead for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a clean cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, around 1 to 1.5 hours.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar (natural) and cinnamon (natural) until well combined. Optionally, add the finely chopped, lightly crisped smoked turkey bacon and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce to the cinnamon sugar for a smoky-sweet flavor twist.
