Description

A simple and flavorful Balsamic Glazed Chicken recipe featuring tender chicken breasts coated with a tangy, sweet balsamic reduction glaze. Ready in under 30 minutes, this dish offers bold tastes with minimal ingredients, perfect for quick dinners that impress and satisfy with a healthy, wholesome touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Balsamic Glaze

  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (natural)
  • 3 garlic cloves, freshly minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper, then set aside while you prepare the glaze.
  2. Make the Balsamic Glaze: In a small bowl, mix balsamic vinegar, brown sugar (natural), minced garlic, vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), and fresh thyme leaves. Stir well until the sugar dissolves, creating a harmonious balance of sweet and tangy flavors ready to coat the chicken.
  3. Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place chicken breasts in the pan and cook undisturbed for about 5-6 minutes on one side until golden brown. Flip the chicken carefully and cook the other side for another 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add the Glaze and Simmer: Pour the prepared balsamic glaze over the chicken in the skillet, reducing heat to medium-low. Let the chicken simmer gently in the glaze, spooning sauce over the breasts regularly until it thickens and the chicken is cooked through, about 3-4 more minutes.
  5. Rest and Serve: Remove the chicken from heat and let it rest for a few minutes to retain juiciness. Plate the chicken, drizzle with extra glaze from the pan, and sprinkle with fresh thyme for a beautiful finishing touch.

Notes

  • Let your chicken sit out for 15 minutes before cooking to ensure even cooking.
  • Cook chicken in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan and keep the sear perfect.
  • If the sauce isn’t thickening, increase the heat slightly and stir continuously for a richer glaze.
  • Always add fresh thyme at the end to keep its flavor bright and refreshing.
  • Check internal temperature aiming for 165°F to confirm the chicken is safely cooked yet tender.
