Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken Marinade

  • 1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (natural)
  • 2 tbsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (natural)

For the Wonton Shells

  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (natural), for brushing

For the Slaw

  • 2 cups shredded cabbage mix
  • 1/2 cup thinly shredded carrots
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (natural)
  • Pinch of salt

To Assemble & Garnish

  • Sriracha or chili sauce (natural), to taste (optional)
  • Toasted sesame seeds, for sprinkling
  • Fresh cilantro or mint leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken Marinade. In a bowl, combine soy sauce (natural), vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil (natural). Add chicken thighs and toss well. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to fully develop.
  2. Cook the Chicken. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken thighs and cook 5-7 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove from heat, let rest for a few minutes, then slice into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Prepare the Wonton Shells. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly brush both sides of the wonton wrappers with sesame oil (natural). Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 6-8 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and let cool gently to keep crisp.
  4. Make the Slaw. In a bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, and green onions. Toss with apple cider vinegar (natural) and a pinch of salt. Optionally chill for 10 minutes before serving to enhance flavors and crunch.
  5. Assemble the Tacos. Fill each crispy wonton shell with sliced chicken, then top with a generous spoonful of slaw. Drizzle with sriracha or chili sauce (natural) if using. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and fresh herbs like cilantro or mint.

Notes

  • Marinate chicken at least 30 minutes; longer marinating enhances flavor.
  • Cook chicken in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan for better caramelization.
  • Handle baked wonton shells carefully as they are fragile.
  • Chilling the slaw before serving improves flavor integration and crunch.
  • Use fresh garlic, ginger, and vegetables for best taste.
